DEBATE TECHNIQUES

When we talk about debate techniques we need to understand that everyone has different methods while debating, there may be different ways you can trick your opponents mind and have a favorable result while debating.

1) First thing we need to know it’s we can’t just simply make claims, in the moment you make a statement, make sure it’s backed up with facts you previously researched on reliable sources.

2) Understand your opponents mind. If someone is against you, understand why, and try to fix your vulnerable points as possible, negotiation is one of the clues of a structured resolution.

3) As we said before, negotiation is one important point to stand out on the debate, try to bring the negotiation inside the committee. For example: The Republic Of Munners Delegation have been negotiating with X about X thing, and we both came into an agreement that this X, will be the proper solution.

4) Address all questions head-on, when you will propose a solution, think first, what would be the questions you may have from the other participants or judges, that will help you to structure a better statement.

5) Although forming logical arguments is central to debates, you will also need to draw attention on your discussions. At the end of the day, you have to impress the chairs, and means delivering your statements with an acute awareness of the delegates opinion. While you are delivering a speech, you can change the pitch of your voice depending what are you saying. Do NOT exaggerate, you can also use a picture to make your point easier to understand.
